Welcome to the Hedgehog Oasis

Discover the fascinating world of wild hedgehogs.

About Us

The Hedgehog Oasis is dedicated to researching the behavior of wild hedgehogs in an urban setting. The lovingly cared-for hedgehogs are fed high-quality kitten food during unfavorable climatic conditions and monitored with a wildlife camera to gain valuable insights into their behavior and health. This allows us to provide rapid assistance if we encounter a sick or injured hedgehog at the Hedgehog Oasis.

With this documentation and practical tips on caring for and rescuing hedgehogs in distress, we want to help ensure they receive the best possible support locally. Unfortunately, hedgehogs have been on the red list of endangered species since 2025.

Our projects

01

Studying Hedgehog Behavior

Our observation projects focus on understanding the behavior and interactions of urban hedgehogs in order to better understand their way of life and needs and to optimize our assistance.

02

Feeding and observing

By describing the care and observation of our spiky friends, we would like to bring you closer to the world of hedgehogs and raise your awareness.

03

Helping in emergencies

In the case of injured or needy hedgehogs, we are here on site to provide our wild friends with the necessary support and care.

04

Creating awareness

Through links to educational programs and information campaigns, we aim to help raise awareness about hedgehog protection and sensitize the community.
